Do you have Verizon FiOS? Then consider me officially jealous. I have Verizon as my wireless phone provider, but I'm (im)patiently waiting for Verizon FiOS to become available in my area. I have friends and family with Verizon FiOS and I want it for myself. All of the features, all of the fun, all bundled together? Sign me up!
I just have to reboot my cable box. With Verizon FiOS I would have some of the most reliable HD television service available. It's been rated #1 in value, overall quality and customer loyalty, according to the 2010 American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) Survey for the largest subscription TV service providers. I want a chance to experience it for myself!
Flex View-just the thought makes me swoon. Start a movie in my living room and finish watching on my phone in my bedroom? Yes, please, sign me up!
The Media Manager would be so much fun. Photo slideshows from your PC to your TV? And that's just to start? I want this yesterday!
The In-Home Agent and TV Widgets? It's really all too much. I'm on the list. I'm waiting. Come on, get to my neighborhood already! I could be tweeting from my TV as we speak if Verizon FiOS was available in my neighborhood. All of my Facebook friends would know what I'm watching as I update my status from the TV. How much fun does all of this sound?
Oh, I forgot the fastest internet available? Wow, if I had Verizon FiOS this would be posted already! Verizon FiOS doesn't jam up during peak times so you can download a movie without losing speed, even if it's in the middle of the afternoon! FiOS Internet has won PCMAG.com’s Readers’ Choice award five years in a row. According to the leading technology review site, "Verizon's FiOS stands alone when it comes to satisfied customers." Watch here to hear one mom talk about how Verizon FiOS has helped her with her home business.
You can find out if Verizon FiOS is available in your neighborhood by visiting here. Just promise if you have it available in your neighborhood you won't rub it in TOO much. I'm already jealous enough! (OK, you can tell me just a little about how awesome it is and how much you want it to get to my neighborhood, too!)

Confessions of a Business Card Hoarder
Are you a business card collector? I know I am. I'm sure some would think it's a little odd for someone out of the corporate world, but business cards really are everywhere.
I work in early education. I have business cards from my office. I pick up business cards at every child care center I visit. I have an etsy shop as a side business. I have cards for my shop that I hand out and place in every order. I take business cards while I'm shopping. I take them at conferences. I have a lot of business cards!
Until recently I had my business cards here, there and everywhere. Stuffed in a desk drawer, floating around in my purse, sitting in the floor of my car. Thankfully last Christmas my friend Maggie came to my rescue.

Until recently I had my business cards here, there and everywhere. Stuffed in a desk drawer, floating around in my purse, sitting in the floor of my car. Thankfully last Christmas my friend Maggie came to my rescue.
Maggie gave me this super cute business card portfolio. It's full of sleeves inside to hold my entire hoard of business cards.
It actually has so much room I've started storing my store loyalty cards inside, too! (I use an app on my phone so I don't have to carry everything around in my wallet.)
With conference season upon us everyone is sure to be gathering a large collection of business cards themselves. Why not use it as an excuse to find a fun new business card portfolio for yourself?

Goals for Sunday
- Significant progress on getting my downstairs closets organized. (Seriously, a house with this many closets is not all it's cracked up to be.)
- Update: Going well!
- First Victory: found the charger for my camera battery!
- Fist Casualty: the area just below my knee. I sat down to program the time for a lamp in my living room and sliced my leg open on the cord. Who knew you could do that?
- Work out again with my EA Sports Active 2. Took the day off yesterday, today will make day four. (In five days!)
- Did it! Modified workout since it wasn't a scheduled workout day. I passed the 400 calorie mark!
- Grocery shopping...which I hate doing on a Sunday. (This might get put off until much later in the night or tomorrow.)
- OK, the grocery shopping didn't happen. There's always tomorrow...
Do you need to know any of this? Probably not, but I'm thinking that writing them down will make me feel there is someone out there expecting me to accomplish them all and that will push me forward. ☺

Drive Safely This Weekend!
Holiday weekends are always a busy time on the roads as people travel to visit families, the beach and other fun destinations. Please take a moment to view the video and remember to buckle up and drive safely this weekend and every day.
A Beautiful Mess
Lots of you have heard about my garage project. And by project I mean I've been building a garage with my dad for the last 9 months!
Things are almost finished, just need to get the electricity actually powered and need to swap out the door from the kitchen. (The inspection department required the door between the garage and house be fire rated.)
Oh, and there's a huge pile of bricks and rock in my driveway, but that's another story.
Today I am trying to organize things in my closets, which has been my temporary lack of better place to put it location for things that would normally go in a garage. You know that stage where things have to get a lot worse before they get better? I'm there.

This is not the worst of it. So of course I'm here writing about it. My plan of working five minutes, breaking for ten is not proving to be a productive way to address this!

CoverGirl NatureLuxe Silk Foundation
Have you tried NatureLuxe Silk Foundation yet? I confess to being a bit of a foundation snob. I usually use Clinique or Lancome foundation and can be pretty funny about what types of foundation I will buy.
I was given a chance to try out NatureLuxe recently and I can say that I am now a convert. The foundation has a unique texture that is quite different from the whipped foundation I had been using most recently. It goes on cleanly and gives a nice but light coverage. One of my favorite features of NatureLuxe is the clean, light botanical smell.

Five Places Every Child Should Visit
It's no secret I love to travel. I've made it a priority as an adult and it's something that "just happened" when I was a child. I realize, of course, that it didn't "just happen" but that's what it seemed like. My mom was a teacher as I was growing up so a summer vacation was a given. I have fond memories of every trip we took when I was young and travel with the entire family is still something I look forward to every year. Here are some of the places I think every family should make it a priority to visit.
The Beach
I spent a lot of my life living just ten minutes from the closest beach so I confess to being a bit "beach spoiled". I love the water, I love to swim and I love to go to the beach. I confess to being older than I would like to admit before I realized that it wasn't a given that everyone had seen the ocean. The fact that so many people have never seen the ocean is a shame and it's something that every child should experience at least once.
The Mountains
Speaking of being spoiled, I live in North Carolina, which I think is one of the best places in the world to live. Not many places have everything to offer that you can find in North Carolina, which includes beaches on the east and mountains in the west. I'm not going to be specific about what mountains or what you experience, but everyone should have a chance to look at some great mountain views, spend some time in a cabin and each child should go down in a snow tube at least once in their life!
Disney World
I adore theme parks, I always have, I always will. I have great memories of every trip I've ever taken to Disney World, both as a child and as an adult. I think it's an experience every child should have at least once in their life. It was a pleasure going with my niece and nephew years ago and seeing Disney World through my nephews eyes, including at least once incident when my nephew chased Piglet down Main Street. Every child should get the chance to experience the magic that is the Magic Kingdom.
A Passport Stamp Destination
OK, I know international travel isn't for everyone. I had never even been on a plane until I was in college myself, so I know it can seem like something that is out of reach for most people. But trust me when I say that the experience of international travel is something that everyone should get to experience at least once. You might be surprised at how inexpensively you can travel the world if you're willing to put the time into finding a good price. I know that I was once able to travel to London for a week for less money than a friend spent that same year on a road trip to a beach just two hours away. Getting to experience a different culture, different cuisine and in some cases a different language is worth the effort of saving and searching for the perfect deal.
Grandmother's House
Every child should get a chance to spend some quality time with their grandparents, getting spoiled, playing games, and eating their grandmother's special chocolate pie. (Well, that's what happened at my grandmother's house!) The best part of this is while the kids are with the grandparents you can go on a little trip of your own. As important as it is to have family vacations together it's important to have a little adult time, too!
What are some of your favorite places to visit with the family? (And without?) I'd love to hear!

Time for a Road Trip!
When I was young we went on vacation every summer. Each of these vacations was a road trip, although I never thought of them that way at the time. It was just vacation and of course we were going to get there in a car. I was in college before I had ever even been on a plane! I found these summer vacations fun, but the agony of getting there and getting home was my least favorite part. I would get car sick if I tried to read and my parents controlled the radio so I couldn't even listen to my favorite tunes. Ah, how times have changed...
Now the various members of my family have portable game systems, dvd players and iPods to keep them entertained. Boy, I sure do wish we had those when I was little! Now during every trip-from a 2 hour drive to the beach or a 12 hour drive to Disney World-is packed with entertainment.
Emily Kaufman, “The Travel Mom,” has the following recommendations to help with the family road trip:

Emily Kaufman, “The Travel Mom,” has the following recommendations to help with the family road trip:
- Create a boredom bag. Convert a hanging travel cosmetic case into a case full of fun and hang it from the seat back in front of the kids’ seats. Consider creating fun works of art with Twizzlers Pull ‘n’ Peel Candy before snacking on them.
- Take your trip “online.” From GPS systems to phone applications, trips are no longer a navigation nightmare.
- Think through the snacks you pack. Avoid packing snacks that are easy to spill like juice boxes or snacks that melt. Try plastic bottles with sports tops and bring along Twizzlers Candy or Twizzlers Nibs Candy – they are easy to share and don’t melt, making them the perfect car ride treat.
Where is our next family trip? Well, we love the beach so that is always a possibility. We also love to go to theme parks and see local attractions. One thing is for sure-we'll be well stocked with entertainment options and fun snacks like Twizzlers to make the ride a lot more fun!

Hayneedle Twitter Party!
Tomorrow I'll get a chance to combine three of my favorite things: Twitter, Parties, and Shopping! That's because I'll be participating in the Hayneedle Twitter Party on May 5 from 7-8:30PM CT. (Or 8:00pm if you're on the East Coast like me.) ;)
Hayneedle is an amazing website combining over 200 specialty stores in one place. If you can think of it there's a good change Hayneedle has it. I have several friends who have outfitted their nursery from Hayneedle's extensive Baby Store. I have my eye on a Pilates Reformer from the Sports Store.
